I purchased the Evinrude wiring harness that plugs right into the harness plug off of my throttle box. Easy enough right? What concerns me is that the Faria instructions say for an 88 and 112 hp a voltage regulator is recommended. It also says a system check tach or 2" gauge is REQUIRED.Re: 1996 Evinrude 88 SPL increase in HP. Likely both engines have the 13:26 gear ratio. Both engines will have similar initial power, but the 115 will walk away from the 88 at higher rpm's. That 115 used high compression 140 heads, has larger carbs and has the NLA rubber intake filler blocks (good for 3-5 hp.)

Had it out last night and it had been running fine, went to get on plane to go to a new spot and it started to shake / miss and didn't have much power.
